JENSEN SOPHOMORE DRIVER JAKE BONILLA SCORES CAREER BEST WEEKEND AT U.S. GRAND PRIX
Jensen Global Advisors second year driver Jake Bonilla scored his first ever front row start at the most important F4 US series race of the year in front of a massive crowd in attendance for the United States Grand Prix Formula One event.
En route to a hard fought 4th place finish in the Saturday race, Jake's fastest lap time also secured a 2nd place starting position for the Sunday feature race.
Starting on pole position alongside Jake was another long-time Jensen development driver Nicholas Christodoulou, who at age 12 in summer 2017 started an intensive Jensen young driver development program comprised of F4 testing and racing. There were many highlights over his 2-year development program including multiple race wins in FRP F4 race series competition, as well as a "Best Rookie" award for his competition in the NACAM F4 event at the Mexican Grand Prix in October 2018 achieved at age 13.
Jensen team owner Eric Jensen stated, "There is so much work involved in developing young race car drivers who have a legitimate chance to have professional careers. The reward for any teacher is days like at the US Grand Prix to watch two young guys who I spent 2 years each with developing their talents, who were running right at the front."
Behind-the-scenes, Jensen also hosted a prospective corporate sponsor together with Alpha Tauri F1 Team Manager Franz Tost at the U.S. Grand Prix with view to continuing the development program for another young driver for the 2022 racing season. There are so many junior racing series globally that it is not enough to simply win, young drivers need representation and a well-connected advocate in order to have a realistic chance to secure available opportunities to advance to professional racing careers.
