Year in Review - Robert Arana

December 24, 2025

SAN ANTONIO TEEN ROBERT ARANA ENJOYED A STELLAR ROOKIE F4 RACING SEASON IN 2025

Robert Arana accomplished so much in his rookie season racing cars. Among many highlights, top of the list is Robert's victory in his race debut competing in the F4 California series at Sonoma Raceway near San Francisco California in September.

An accomplished kart racer, Robert's transition to driving race cars began in April 2025 by attending one of the JENSEN team's RACING CAMP programs at the Motorsport Ranch Cresson circuit near Fort Worth, Texas.

With a well thought out and executed development plan, Robert ultimately competed in six races during his 2025 rookie race season. Reflecting on all his accomplishments, one of the most telling is that Robert led in five out of those six races.

Following his initial two day Racing Camp in April, Robert returned to the Fort Worth Texas circuit for two additional practice sessions during his summer school break. Robert worked to become proficient with the science of race car driving, specifically learning the optimal order and magnitude of the four driving inputs: brake / throttle / steering / gearing.

On his third visit to Fort Worth, Robert started showing just how quick he is setting a highly competitive 1:13:2 best lap time. Robert also impressed showing how consistent that he was able to set fast lap times, so he was clearly ready to receive his competition license in order to begin his F4 racing journey.

First up was a practice race weekend at Sonoma Raceway located 30 miles north of San Francisco, California. Despite the many challenges presented by the Sonoma circuit with it's significant elevation change and high-speed corners, Robert made an incredible performance scoring a podium in his race debut.

Two weeks later, Robert returned to Sonoma Raceway to compete in round four of the Formula PRO USA championship driving the #3 JENSEN Formula 4 race car. Competing against strong and by far more experienced competition, Robert made a shock performance winning race one. Robert backed up his Saturday performance by leading race two by more than five seconds before unfortunately getting caught up in a racing incident that ended his day prematurely.

In November, Robert competed in the final round of the 2026 Formula PRO USA season in treacherous rainy conditions at Buttonwillow Raceway. In race one, Robert finished just off the podium in fourth place. Starting from third in the Sunday finale, Robert made some excellent passes on a challenging wet but drying circuit to lead the race. Some bad luck ensued with a red flag to stop the race, and on the re-start Robert got caught up in an incident that again ended his race prematurely. Regardless the weekend was a resounding success for Robert's long-term driver development as he gained valuable experience in difficult wet weather conditions.

JENSEN team owner Eric Jensen insights about Robert's rookie season, "The sky is the limit for Robert with his racing career. He's proven in his rookie season that he is both quick and also a terrific racer. This winter our focus shifts from racing to conducting a series of track tests to help Robert advance his craft, and I fully expect that Robert will win many races and challenge for a championship in the 2026 season as he returns to compete in the F4 California series.

Closing out Robert's 2025 season were a couple of test outings at the Austin F1 track Circuit of the Americas. Formula 4 is the entry level junior open-wheel race category on the FIA development ladder system intended to identify and train future drivers to compete in the Formula One World Championship. JENSEN owns four Ligier JS F4 pro spec race cars, and there are multiple championships across the USA that are terrific for new drivers to learn how to optimize their driving techniques and to gain competition experience.

Formula PRO USA Championship is one such championship, where the 2025 season will feature six race weekends at iconic California circuits including Laguna Seca and Sonoma Raceway.
