RACE WINNER ROBERT ARANA ADVANCES TO THE NEXT STEP IN HIS RACE CAR DRIVER DEVELOPMENT

After a podium filled rookie season of Formula 4 racing, Texas teen Robert Arana is taking the next step in his young driver development program by graduating to pilot one of the JENSEN team's Formula 3 race cars.

Robert accomplished so much in his rookie season racing cars, including winning in his debut race competing in the Formula PRO USA F4 California series at Sonoma Raceway near San Francisco California in September 2025.

Formula Regional is the top level American junior race series on the FIA Formula One Championship's young driver development ladder. Ligier Formula 3 chassis powered by 303 horsepower turbocharged Honda engines are capable of top speeds nearing 170 mph,

The key to being successful driving the much faster Formula 3 race car is understanding and applying the science of aerodynamic grip. Formula 3 race cars feature large front and rear wings, as well as vortex generating diffusers under the race car.

During the first year of his young race car driver development program, Robert gained extensive knowledge about the science of race car driving. Following his strong results racing at the F4 level, it came as no surprise that Robert very quickly applied his driver inputs to utilize the aerodynamic grip in the Formula 3 race car setting competitive lap times in testing.

JENSEN team owner Eric Jensen insights about Robert's graduation to Formula 3 racing, "It's very rewarding to help young drivers like Robert Arana. Every race weekend he is a podium threat, and he clearly has the ability and speed to ultimately become a paid professional race car driver in IndyCar or IMSA."

JENSEN finished second in the 2023 Team Championship with Oliver Westling scoring two race wins at New Jersey and the Austin F1 track Circuit of the Americas. The JENSEN team also recently won both Formula 3 races in the Formula PRO USA California series with driver Aiden Zelaya.

Young American drivers racing in Formula Regional series have achieved impressive career success in recent years. The list of graduates includes current IndyCar stars Kyle Kirkwood who races for Andretti Global, David Malukas who races for Penske, and Kyffin Simpson who races for the Ganassi team.
