Zachary Lewis Shines In California

July 5, 2026

TALENTED TEXAS TEEN ZACHARY LEWIS SCORED HIS FIRST FORMULA 4 RACE WIN AT LAGUNA SECA

Well known internationally as a competitive sim racer, Zachary Lewis is quickly making a name for himself in real life racing as he competes in the Formula PRO USA Championship. Zachary scored his first Formula 4 race win at the famous Laguna Seca circuit in race seven of the 2026 championship.

Driving the #7 JENSEN Ligier Formula 4 race car, Zachary was fast all weekend winning race one on Saturday, and backing up that performance with another podium appearance in the Sunday feature race.

Formula PRO USA Championship takes place over six event weekends at world famous race tracks all located in sunny California. WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca near Monterey California hosted round four of the 2026 championship on the weekend June 26-28.

15 year old Zachary started his race car driver development program in February, which puts into perspective just how impressive it is winning a national level Formula 4 race so early in his driving career.

Zachary also has limited karting experience, so his strong results may also be motivational for the iRacing community. Zachary practices extensively on iRacing utilizing JENSEN team track notes prior to each race weekend, and his results are a reflection of how critical sim racing is to offset his lack of previous track experience.

Following his big points haul at Laguna Seca, Zachary now sits 6th in the 2026 point standings despite missing the first race weekend of the F4 California series championship season.

JENSEN team owner Eric Jensen offers insights, "By day two of his first F4 test it was clear that Zachary is an excellent race car driver prospect. He is very reliable finishing every lap of every track session. His one lap pace likewise is improving substantially with each race weekend. Still it was a bit surprising that Zachary would win a race so early in his driver development program. With the Laguna Seca success, we are now planning the next phase of Zachary's driver development program to ultimately make him a top IndyCar prospect in a few years."

Formula 4 is the entry level junior open-wheel race category on the FIA development ladder system intended to identify and train future drivers to compete in the Formula One World Championship. JENSEN owns four Ligier JS F4 pro spec race cars, and there are multiple championships across the USA that are terrific for new drivers to learn how to optimize their driving techniques and to gain competition experience.

Formula PRO USA Championship is one such championship, where the 2026 season will again feature six race weekends at iconic California circuits including Laguna Seca and Sonoma Raceway.
