OLIVER WESTLING SCORES FIRST PROFESSIONAL RACE WIN AT NEW JERSEY MOTORSPORTS PARK

Oliver Westling has been one of the fastest drivers competing in the in the Formula Regional Americas Championship throughout the 2023 season. The 20 year old from the San Francisco Bay Area finally enjoyed the top step of the podium in Race One at New Jersey Motorsports Park.

With his win, the sophomore JENSEN driver is 4th in the 2023 championship standings in his rookie season competing at the F3 level. Two weekend remain on the 2023 season schedule each with three races at Virginia International Raceway and at the Austin F1 circuit.

JENSEN FR Americas team owner Eric Jensen comments, "I have said it often that Oliver Westling is one of the most promising young talents in American racing, He is naturally very quick, and learns at an exceptional pace when one considers that Oliver only started his customized development program for Oliver just 18 months ago."

Formula Regional Americas is the 2nd step on the Formula One driver development ladder. Oliver started his development program during the 2022 race season competing in the 1st step of the ladder system competing in the F4 US Championship, graduating mid-season to compete in the higher level Formula Regional Americas Championship where he scored a season high 2nd place finish at the season finale at Circuit of the Americas.

Formula Regional Americas and F4 US Championship graduates have achieved impressive career success in recent years considering that most all of the young American drivers graduating to IndyCar spent their formative development years racing in the two categories.

Speeds increase substantially as young drivers graduate from the Ligier F4 race car to driving the considerably more powerful 303 horsepower turbocharged Ligier F3 race car. There is also the added challenge of understanding aerodynamic grip, as the Ligier F3 race car generates significantly more downforce from the diffuser and larger front and rear wings.
