TWO PODIUMS AT VIRGINIA MOVES MITCH TO SECOND IN SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP
17 year old driver Mitch Regadas is quietly having a very strong rookie season in the F2000 championship series.
Regadas, who has residences in both Guam and Houston Texas, jumped to second in the 2020 championship standings following his most successful race weekend to date competing at Virginia International Raceway where he scored a pair of second places finishes.
Virginia was the third race weekend of the 2020 season for the F2000 championship series. Pittsburgh Raceway hosted the season opener, followed two weeks later by Mid-Ohio where Mitch showed his first signs of pole competitive speeds in second qualifying.
Speaking about his development, driver coach Eric Jensen states "The decision to pivot the development plan for Mitch to compete in the F2000 championship is now showing solid results. Van Diemen race cars are excellent for young drivers to develop their skills, and while the grids may be smaller the competition is at a very high level. Much credit to Mitch for pushing hard every weekend, and to the F2000 series for providing the environment where Mitch could learn at such a rapid pace."
Race event four of the 2020 season takes place August 21-23 at Summit Point Raceway, which is located one hour west of Washington D.C.
