Oriol Servia

20 Year Professional Career 

Oriol has made more than 200 race starts in IndyCar including his many years driving in the CART and ChampCar series. Oriol won the Indy Lights championship in 1999, and then graduated to a full-time drive in the CART series in 2000. Among many highlights during his long career are achieving 2nd place in the 2005 ChampCar World Series point standings while driving for Newman Haas; and 4th place in the 2011 IndyCar Series point standings again while driving for Newman Haas. 

 

With a mechanical engineering degree, Oriol is recognized as one of the best development drivers as was evidenced by IndyCar tasking Oriol alongside long-time friend Juan Pablo Montoya to be the test drivers to decide upon the new IndyCar aero kits for the 2018 season. 

 

Oriol also secured the Formula E franchise for the Dragon Racing team and served as Managing Director for the first two seasons, including a 2nd place finish in the team point standings in the inaugural season of the championship.

 

Oriol currently resides in Los Angeles, California. 

Technical Management & Performance Coaching

Oriol can provide his specialist knowledge on a consultancy or full-time project basis to manufacturers, race teams and select drivers. Oriol has driven for 14 different professional IndyCar teams including Newman-Haas, Penske, Forsythe, Andretti, and Rahal-Letterman-Lanigan, which provides experience without parallel about best practices for any team or driver to achieve winning results.

Driver Management & Coaching

On a case by case basis, Oriol may also be available to mentor young drivers on their quest to advance their careers up the ladder to Formula 1, IndyCar, Formula E, or sports car careers. As evidenced by his more than 200 race starts in IndyCar with 14 different teams, Oriol has a wealth of experience with how to find drives and with the technical side of how to work with teams and engineers to make his cars fast and achieve top results.
